Dingoes maul pet

A MINI fox terrier and an American bulldog are lucky to be alive after a pack of dingoes preyed on the innocent pets in front of a terrified mother and her crying baby.

Katie Casey was walking last Tuesday with her 10month-old daughter and two dogs, fox terrier Cheeky and American bulldog Milo, at her property near Hughenden, west of Townsville.

Miss Casey said she did not hear the dingoes approaching.

“I turned around to check on the dogs and there were three dingoes a few metres behind me mauling Cheeky,” she said.

Cheeky spent two nights at a veterinary clinic and is now being nursed at home.

Ms Casey said her dog was lucky to alive.
