TITANS STAR PAIRS UP FOR A WORLD OF SMILES
TITANS forward Jarrod Wallace and former Miss World Australia Courtney Thorpe stepped out as a couple at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival luncheon in Brisbane yesterday.
Wallace, 26, and Thorpe, 27, revealed at the event that they have been dating for the past few months after meeting through their various ambassador jobs.
“A PR (public relations) lady had showed me this beautiful girl that was also working with them and I thought ‘I could definitely get on board here’,” Wallace said. “I left it a couple of weeks (before approaching her) because I was a bit nervous and I thought ‘there’s no way she’d want to talk to me’, but then I got her number and asked her to catch up to discuss work.”
The pair said they hit it off immediately and, while it is still early days in their relationship, the State of Origin star said the presenter and model had met his two young daughters from a previous relationship: Lara, 4, and Peyton, 2.
“They really like her and they have a lot of fun together,” he said.
“They clicked straight away and that was a big thing for me.”
Thorpe described Wallace as incredibly down to earth.
“We have so much fun together, it’s easy and it just works,” she said.
Wallace added: “She’s obviously gorgeous but I love that she’s her own woman.”
