TWEED’S victory over PNG yesterday was what sport is about.
In one corner, an underdog lucky to have any real footy experience to call on. The other, a QCup-leading juggernaut set to hit finals.
The Seagulls had no shortage of motivation.
From one last victory for outgoing mentor Aaron Zimmerle, to avoiding the dreaded wooden spoon, Tweed had every reason to chase a win.
Wanting a victory, however, and actually being capable of toppling a team that, truth be told, outgun you in most departments are two very different things.
So raise a glass to the Seagulls, the little club who could.
