Body lies undiscovered

THE body of a man who died after crashing his go kart down a steep road south of Tweed wasn’t discovered until at least eight hours after the incident.

The man, 34, was at his Simpson Drive home watching Sunday’s boxing match with friends before he left the house without their knowledge.

It is understood the man took his petrol go kart up Scenic Drive and drove it down the steep road where it hit a concrete median strip.

The kart then veered across the road and crashed up a driveway where it stopped out of sight to motorists and passers by.

His body was discovered at 6.10am.
