KIRSTYN Lole might only be 14 but she is already racking up the points after winning a national netball competition with her indoor team.

The Varsity Lakes teen was the Queensland team’s youngest member in the under

18s competition at the Indoor Netball Federation of Australia National Championships held at the end of July.

Her team remained undefeated national champions in the seven-a-sides, and received the silver medal for the six-a-side team.

She was also invited to the Emerging Players Camp for the under 17s squad to be held in September.

Kirstyn said she had trained hard off the back of a very successful run with her South Coast team in May after they won each game during the tournament.

She said she trained four to five times a week as well as a few hours each Sunday,

“I’ve been playing netball since I was about three. I’ve grown up with the sport,” she said. “I love it.”

The Helensvale State High School student said she felt honoured and blessed to take part in the competition and was grateful to represent Queensland.

But mother Joanne Davies said she had worked hard to be where she was today, always striving higher.

“Something I guess what pushes Kirstyn is ... any opportunity to play against the older kids,” she said.

Kirstyn said she wanted to concentrate on netball and succeed in the sport, with her ultimate goal to play for the Australian Diamonds.
