BREWERY TOUR AND TASTINGS BLACK HOPS BREWERY 15 GARDENIA GROVE, BURLEIGH HEADS

While we hate to generalise, all dads love beer. So what better way to say “Thanks for being my dad, dad,” than with a whole brewery full of the golden nectar. Black Hops is putting on a special Father’s Day tour so you can justify drinking all afternoon. “We only have 20 tickets but if people miss a ticket they can still come drink beer,” co-owner Dan Norris says. “After the tour the brewery is open until 6pm with a food truck and live music for an epic Sunday session.” The tour kicks off at noon on Sunday. Tickets are $40 a head, but entry for just drinks is free.

HIGH TEA FOR HIM VERANDAH BAR MANOR CIRCUIT, HOPE ISLAND

For fathers that appreciate the finer things, high tea has been turned on its head at Verandah Bar with the Gentleman’s High Tea. The decadent but manly feast includes everything from gooey s’mores to gourmet lamb sliders with sweet potato fries to Malaysian chicken drumettes, plus beer, of course. It’s $39 and bookings are essential.

BBQ & BEER FEST WALLABY HOTEL 45 RAILWAY ST, MUDGEERABA

Hosted by The Design Collective, this Saturday from 11am the carpark of the iconic Wallaby Hotel in Mudgeeraba will be filled with gourmet barbecue masters serving up the best street food. Billed as the ultimate Father’s Day session, there’ll be live music and beers inside and face painting and a jumping castle to keep the kids occupied.

SERIOUS STEAK BROADBEACH TAVERN VICTORIA AVE, BROADBEACH

If you want to keep things casual, a good old feed at your local tavern is a great way to treat dad. Broadbeach Tavern is putting on a feast including Makers Mark ribs and steak, the “Manwich” and prawn twisters at special prices. If you book a table your dad or grandad will receive a free gift. That makes your job very easy.

SNAGS AND STUFF BUNNINGS WAREHOUSE OXENFORD

On Thursday night at 6pm, celebrate Father’s Day early in the most Aussie way possible – DIY hardware lessons at Bunnings. But what does this have to do with food, you say? The classic Bunnings snag stand will be open and ready for business, so pile that bad boy with fried onions and sauce and indulge in a culinary masterpiece.
