Coy Cowboys not looking elsewhere

-

ANTONIO Winterstein says the Cowboys are so focused on claiming a win over the Broncos they have not even considered that they might need to rely on other teams to make the finals.

North Queensland will meet Brisbane on Thursday in what is expected to be another thrilling blockbuster between the two sides, with plenty on the line in the derby clash.

The Broncos must win to give themselves any chance of a top-two finish, while the Cowboys also need the two points to guarantee finals.

If the Cowboys are unsuccessful, it means they will have to rely on results from the Sea Eagles and the Dragons to save their finals bid.

But Winterstein said he has not even begun to worry about how the other teams may affect the Cowboys, claiming his side know they must walk away victorious.

“We haven’t thought that far ahead,” Winterstein said.

“The bottom line is we have to win. That’s the way we’re heading into this game.

“It’s always a game that both teams get up for. It won’t be any different this Thursday.

“We have a big challenge on our hands.”
