FUND SET UP FOR YOUNG FAMILY

GRIEF-STRICTEN surf lifesavers have been offered counselling to help deal with the loss of ironman legend Dean Mercer.

A Surf Life Saving Queensland spokeswoman said counselling services were available for all members who felt they needed help in the wake of the sudden death on Monday.

“That support has been offered to members,” she said.

Meanwhile, friends have established a fundraising page to help support Dean’s wife and four sons.
