’Flood Watch Barbie’ cops spray for donning stilettos

FIRST Lady Melania Trump has been mocked for wearing stilettos as she visited the Tropical Storm Harvey disaster zone in Texas.

The ex-model (pictured) is rarely seen without heels but she drew criticism on social media over their inappropriateness on this occasion.

“Melania over here looking like Flood Watch Barbie,” writer Maria Del Russo tweeted.

Television writer-producer Brad Wollack quipped: “Help is on the way, Texas! Don’t worry, Melania has her special storm stilettos.”

President Donald Trump toured the Harvey disaster zone with his wife seeking to project an image of leadership in America’s first big natural disaster since he took office. His tour came as the battered US Gulf Coast prepared for another hit from the huge storm, with New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu urging residents to stay home because of the threat of potential flooding.

Harvey has devastated coastal Texas communities and left large parts of Houston – America’s fourth-largest city – underwater. Mr Trump, sporting a “USA” baseball cap and clutching a Texas flag visited the coastal city of Corpus Christi. “It’s historic, it’s epic, but I tell you, it happened in Texas – and Texas can handle anything,” he said.
