Woodridge Family win

A COMMUNITY centre in Woodridge has won Queensland’s top honour in National Child Protection Week.

The Family Place, a child and family centre, hosts largescale “Play Communities”, as well as a range of free activities.

Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove handed out awards for “remarkable community initiatives” that help to prevent child abuse and neglect.

“I am sure we all remember someone ... who through their generosity and kindness made a difference that lives on with us to this day,” he said.
