SCHOOL anti-obesity initiatives don’t make children thinner, a new study shows.

The first rigorous analysis of this kind of scheme suggests they have no major impact.

It compared students at 16 schools who did have a healthy living program with pupils at 16 schools who did not.

Measured two years later, researchers found “no difference” in obesity or physical activity levels between pupils from the two sets of schools.
