FOR someone with a fear of heights, Simon Backman from Wahlstrom Financial Services has an odd hobby — he climbs mountains. “I do it to expand my boundaries,” he said. “I’m taking a group over to Mt Kilimanjaro (in Tanzania) soon and when that’s done my next goal is to climb Mt Acocnagua in Argentina which is 7000m. It will be a 21-day solo trek with a guide and the training is brutal. After that I’ll set my sights on Mt Everest.” Upwards and onwards.
