Early rest for Schache

JOSH Schache has been overlooked for the Brisbane’s NEAFL grand final against Sydney on Saturday.

Schache hit the wall late in the season and did not play in the NEAFL side’s preliminary final victory over Sydney Uni at the Gabba on Saturday.

The 19-year-old has been given an early start to his leave and will return to Victoria in coming days.

Schache, a second-year player, was also wrapped in cotton wool for the final three weeks of last season because of fatigue.

He played his ninth game in the NEAFL against GWS in the last round to become eligible for the finals, kicking two goals from just four touches.

Schache trained at the weekend but has been struggling physically.
