Dozens offer land for new hospital

MORE than 30 Tweed property owners and developers have offered to sell land to the NSW Government so the shire’s new hospital can be built.

An expression of interest period is open ahead of a site selection process to identify the best site for the new $534 million Tweed Hospital.

The NSW Government is searching for property from Tweed Heads South to Pottsville which is 10-15 kiolmetres inland with a developabl­e area between eight to 16 hectares.

Overseeing the selection process is Charter Keck Cramer associate director Adam Puddy who said a shortlist would be developed ahead of the expression of interest deadline on September 22.

Following a due diligence period in October and November, Mr Puddy said he aimed to have a preferred site for the NSW Government by December.
