PETA want bacon tax

PLANT-LOVING animal activists are calling for a tax on the humble bacon rasher in a move industry experts have described as ludicrous.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) want the federal government to tax bacon because it is bad for our health and the environment.

But the idea has been smacked down by Australian Pork Limited who say it’s crazy while treasurer Scott Morrison boldly declared: “First the PC brigade want to take our statues. Now they want to take our bacon! Pigs might fly.”
