KEEBRA Park State High’s win on the national stage is a high point in what has been a difficult year for rugby league on the Gold Coast.

With the Titans and our Queensland Cup sides enduring a tough run, these young men from Southport have given the league faithful something to cheer about.

Perhaps more importantly, they serve as a reminder of the values of this great game when stripped down to its purest form.

No big-money deals, no coaching conspiracies. Just football.

They play for the opportunity. They play for the love of it.

And they have been rewarded for that with their success in Sydney.

As a city of sports fans we could not be more proud.
