Sattler backs Maguire

“There has been word of Michael coming here and I thought that it’d be good,” Sattler said of a Maguire move to the Titans.

“He has the right straightahead approach, he’s the boss, the coach, and he’ll listen to players – but he won’t be told by them.

“And he knows what he’s talking about. If he’s available they should do everything they can do to get him.”

Sattler enjoys a special place in the history of South Sydney, playing through the pain of a broken jaw in the 1970 grand final win.

He is retired on the Gold Coast now, with son Scott a former football manager for the Titans.
