Man left bloodied in bashing at home

A Pimpama man has been taken to hospital with a facial injuries after being assaulted by two men at a home on Hanover Dr. Police said they were called to the address on Wednesday shortly after 7pm following reports two men had broken into the house and bashed someone. Paramedics said they took the victim to Robina Hospital. He was in a stable condition.

Busy snake catcher had his hands full

Gold Coast snake catcher Tony Harrison was kept busy on Wednesday after wrangling a 1.7m eastern brown snake from a property in Ormeau. He was called to the property to catch what the family thought was a carpet python who had “taken a few swings” at the husband who was trying to catch him. Mr Harrison said the snake was “extremely cold” and was easy to handle. But transporti­ng it home was another story. “It tried to eat me,” Mr Harrison wrote on Facebook.
