LOGIES’ HEFTY COSTS LAID BARE

MUCH kerfuffle from some of the stars of Australian television regarding the shifting of the Logies from Melbourne to our spot of paradise.

An insider has told us of the pricey outlay and why the Logies are on the move.

“It is invite only so the stars don’t pay for anything,” our source said. “It is the networks who fork out for everything plus the cost and upkeep of flying in overseas celebs. The Victorian government kicks in $1 million and there is an arrangement with Crown which has just expired. It simply got too expensive to stage.”

Hmmm … maybe to help the bottom line, the TV stars could pay for their tickets.
