‘Arnie’ earns top honour

LIFELONG administrator Christopher “Arnold” O’Brien OAM is the fourth recipient of Bowls Australia’s Hall of Fame.

O’Brien, 82, will be formally inducted on October 26 at the Hall of Fame and Awards Night, to be staged at Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise.

O’Brien is this year’s first non-athlete inductee, and just the 11th of all time, from a total of 48 past and present members whose achievements date back to the 1930s. Another inductee will be named Monday.
