GLOBETROTTER Jasmine Washington moved from the US in search of the sun and found herself on the Gold Coast.
And the 29-year-old California native is in the right spot, with temperatures expected to increase through the week as a surface trough pushes in from the west.
The Bureau of Meteorology said the Coast would see highs of 29C and 30C tomorrow and on Wednesday. Beachgoers can also welcome warm waters, with sea surface temperatures of 21C and 22C.
Ms Washington said she has one family member stuck in Florida as destructive Hurricane Irma hits the United States, with flights out of the southern coastal state tripling in cost.
