Whale swimming win
SWIMMING with whales in Hervey Bay will be a permanent fixture on Queensland’s tourism to-do list after a three-year trial went off without a hitch.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced the decision to sanction the Swimming with Whales program into the future for the Fraser Coast locale. The premier described whale watching as a “growth industry” for the state and said the government would also consider pushing for the area to be recognised as a world whale reserve.
“The Fraser Coast is recognised as the world’s whale watching capital,” she said.
