RED RULES THE DAY AT CARNIVAL
St Francis Xavier students show their sporting skills
MORE than 600 St Francis Xavier students, from Prep to Year 6, competed for their sports houses in track and field events and ball games.
In a close finish, Roberts House – the red house – claimed the trophy for both carnivals.
Red House captains Ben O’Neill and Makya Wright graciously accepted the awards on behalf of their house.
“We are so proud of Roberts House for being the champions,” they said. “We were surprised to see that Red had double wins. We think everyone is a winner for participating.”
Physical education teacher Kerry Hazelwood was thrilled the day went so well and thought it was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic and smiling children.
“And, as per usual, we were treated to wonderful weather and amazing spirits.”
Senior student Brianna Angus said that although she was upset that her last primary school carnival was over, she was very proud of how she had performed over the past seven years.
The supporter turnout on the day was amazing.
Onlookers were not only treated to sunny winter weather but were also able to enjoy a barbecue lunch prepared by the Parents and Friends Association.
