IN just 203 days the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) will be the spectacular culmination of the hard work of thousands of people.

True to our vision, we are on track to successfully deliver a great Games and Australia’s biggest multisport event this decade from April 4-15, 2018.

It’s an event that will transform the local jobs market, accelerate and diversify economic growth and drive domestic and international visitors like never before.

The GC2018 model is built to invest in projects that will provide high social, community and infrastructure value.

The objectives for the Gold Coast and the event cities of Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville is to leave each city in a better place than before.

GC2018 will also provide a significant avenue, through its exciting Festival 2018 program and school and community programs, to inform generations of Queenslanders and other Australians of the importance of not only the Commonwealth Games but its major cultural assets and social responsibilities.

The success of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games rejuvenated the Games movement by regenerating the host city’s events and tourism sector.
