ON BOARD A POLICE ATV

● Police ATVs have lights and sirens to assist in intercepting members of the public.

● They are used in areas inaccessible to cars to target illegal activity.

● Gold Coast and Coomera police have a fleet of 10 ATVs.

● The newest are called ‘Mules’ and seat six, while the older ones are called ‘Rhinos’ and seat two.

● ATVs have been used in Gold Coast policing since 2009 after a successful trial.
