Rossi to hit Phillip Island

INJURED MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi has claimed he will recover from his broken leg in time for the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix next month at Phillip Island.

The seven-time premier class world champion said he expected to return in Japan the week before and then be aboard his Yamaha for Phillip Island on October 22.

Rossi, who is fifth in the championship, broke the tibia and fibula in his right leg in an enduro bike accident in Italy on August 31.
