Woods break-up a difficult tale

-

AARON Woods has described it as breaking up with your first true love.

While Woods may be officially a Tiger until the end of next month, his next NRL game will be as a Bulldog.

Woods, who will lead the PM’s XIII against PNG next week, has had little time to reflect on a turbulent season.

He watched on as Jason Taylor was sacked as Tigers coach before he himself came under heavy fire from his own supporters for his decision to sign with Canterbury.

While he believes the Tigers are in a much better place than at the start of the season, Woods said the year took a toll.

“It’s been a long year,” Woods said.

“It was long with all the coaching stuff that happened at the club and then the contract saga. It felt like there was one problem (after another).

“It was really settled in the last eight weeks after Origin.”

Like most break-ups, the situation got messy and hearts were broken. In this instance, it was those of the Tigers faithful.

“You break up with your young girlfriend and then you move on,” Woods said.

“I owe a lot to the Tigers.”
