Toddlers in bird terror

-

TWO toddlers were rushed to hospital after being attacked by a magpie at a local park, with one of the children receiving serious eye damage.

The youngsters were swooped on by the same male bird a few hours apart at Whiteman Park in Perth, on Sunday. One-year-old Jacob Gale underwent emergency surgery on his left eye after the magpie punctured his eyeball with its beak.

His father Adam said: “They’ve had to remove the lens of the eye because it’s damaged.” The magpie was destroyed by animal officers.
