EZY SAVOIR FAIRE IS ALL THE RAGE

- ALISTER THOMSON alister.thomson@news.com.au

A GOLD Coast company may have collared the market in France by showing it is no paw substitute for the big dogs on the market.

EzyDog has gone from the doghouse to the Elysee Palace with Emmanuel Macron’s adopted dog Nemo sporting one of the Gold Coast company’s dog collars recently.

Founder Luke Hatcher said he was sent an online article from London’s Daily Telegraph about the palace’s new black labrador-griffon cross resident.

“We’ve had a heap of calls from people saying they have seen pictures of the French president’s dog wearing our collar,” Mr Hatcher said.

“It is a good look and you can clearly see the EzyDog logo in the pictures.”

Mr Hatcher said he did not know how the collar came to be purchased for Nemo.

EzyDog, which markets products including dog leashes, collars and harnesses, is making a push into the lucrative European market.

It has a warehouse in Amsterdam and sells in Europe through its website, translated into German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and French.

Mr Hatcher, who established the company in 1995 after he started making leads from waterski ropes, said Europe was a tough market to break into due to the large number of competitors.
