Migaloo’s Song the people’s choice

-

A GIANT wire sculpture resembling a whale and a tall red tentacled tower were top pics among kids and visitors to the Swell Sculpture Festival at Currumbin.

Visitors awarded Guy Cooper’s Migaloo’s Song the People’s Choice Award, which came with $3000 in prize money. Migaloo’s Song also won the Max Faber Foun- dation Environmental Award.

But kids couldn’t go past Clayton Thompson’s Safe, a giant red sculpture covered in hundreds of wiggly little tentacles, awarding it the Kids’ Choice Award.

Visitors gave the Smalls Gallery Award to The Dead Earth Series by Karl de Waal.
