• On average, Australians eat 90kg of meat a year – 42kg of poultry, 20kg of pork, 22kg of beef and 7kg sheep.
• You should eat no more than 400g of lean red meat a week (or 3-4 serves).
• A healthy meal could be: 50 per cent vegetables, 25 per cent protein and 25 per cent wholegrain carbohydrates.
• 3630 people are diagnosed with cancer on the Gold Coast each year.
• Other group 1 carcinogens include: asbestos, tobacco smoking, alcohol, plutonium, Chinese-style salted fish, soot and X and Gamma radiation.
