HOW TO FIND YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL

- AMANDA ROBBEMOND amanda.robbemond@news.com.au

THIS massage finished with a happy ending. But not the type you’d expect.

Brandan Hadley of Best Massage Australia has begun offering “spirit” animal massages at his Southport parlour.

The 33-year-old uses his American Indian Lakota heritage through guided meditation and massage to take his clients on a vision quest to find their “spirit” or “power” animal as they sleep.

“People are surprised by what spirit animal they get,” he said.

“It’s not you picking the animal, the animal picks you.

“I’m not a Shaman, I have certain abilities but the cleansing ritual is passed down from family to family member orally.”

Mr Hadley said as his clients slept through their massage they would “literally” be taken on a journey.

“Sometimes it’s on a river, through a forest, they’re flying or they’re underwater,” he said. “Each vision is unique. I have no part in what they see.”

Mr Hadley said he started offering the hour-and-a-half spirit animal massage, which costs $200, as a way to help differentiate his business and help reconcile his clients’ body, mind and spirit.
