Workers flee blaze
BUSINESSES in Miami were ordered to evacuate after a fire ripped through an abandoned building yesterday.
The blaze began around 1.45pm on the corner of Paradise Ave and Hillcrest Pde where fire crews battled the blaze for over two hours.
Rejuv owner Julia Van Dartel said she could smell the fire and saw black smoke billowing from the building.
“I thought the shop was on fire, I was so scared,” she said.
Firefighters managed to keep the blaze away from neighbouring property Storage King.
Police are continuing to investigate after reports a youth may have started the fire.
