TICKETS for the biggest party the Gold Coast has ever seen have gone on sale as Commonwealth Games organisers look to raise millions of dollars for locals in need – but you’ll need deep pockets to be part of the action.

Tickets for the GC2018 Charity Gala start from $350 per person with options to purchase gold and silver tables where guests will enjoy the company of an elite athlete, take home exclusive merchandise and be recognised for their support throughout the evening and in the official program.

Gold tables for 10 people are selling for $20,000 – and include luxury drinks, and an athlete or “personality” host.

Ball-goers will be able to bid for money-can’t buy Games experiences at the ball, to be held at The Star Gold Coast on November 4. The first glimpse of the GC2018 medals will also be revealed at the ball, with all money raised going to official Games charity, the Gold Coast Community Fund.

Commonwealth Games diving gold medallist Domonic Bedggood said he was excited by the opportunities already presented as auction and raffle prizes and suggested the chance to be a part of a medal presentation should not be underestimated.

“The medal ceremony party are presenting to us not only a medal but the culmination of years of hard work, commitment and discipline,” he said.

“When you first make eye contact with those presenters that’s when the emotion rises; it’s a surreal moment in time for us and for all those involved. It is history and they are part of it.”

Gold Coast Community Fund chairman Rutland Smith said he was delighted by the enthusiasm of sponsors and sporting stars donating prizes that will ensure great fundraising for the Community Fund.
