Tony reels in the big prize

- AMANDA ROBBEMOND

TONY Ramsay has landed the catch of his life.

Yesterday, Mr Ramsay heard he was the winner of a brand new $10,000 tinnie from Nitro Marine at Southport.

The Ormeau baker said it was the perfect present for his son, Bailey.

“It was my son’s 16th birthday (recently) and he was saving up for one,” Mr Ramsay said.

But there’s one slight problem – Mr Ramsay doesn’t have a boat licence.

He plans to correct that tomorrow before hitting the water on the weekend.

“My first plans are to get my license then go to Paradise Point for a fish” Mr Ramsay said. “I couldn’t be happier.”

Mr Ramsay won the boat as part of a joint competition held by the Gold Coast Bulletin and Nine News to launch Luke Bradnam’s fishing column.

The Makocraft 410 tinnie has a 25hp 2 stroke outboard, a custom wrap, Dunbier trailer ‘nipper’ and nearly $500 worth of safety equipment thanks to Nitro Marine.
