REPORT HELD
GOLD Coast City Council says it will not yet release the full feasibility study of the proposed cruise ship terminal at The Spit. Community leaders have demanded an unredacted version of the report, which went before councillors in July, be made public. But a mayoral spokesman told the Bulletin: “The redactions that will be remaining are the confidential financial costings and other related financial matters that would disadvantage ratepayers in a subsequent tender to build such a CST if they were released publicly now”. The decision was made by CEO Dale Dickson and authorised by the full council. A warning that cruise ships could wash up on The Spit was attributed to an old design, the mayoral spokesman said.
