Lacking in life lessons

-

HALF of university students have never changed a lightbulb, a poll suggests.

Although 75 per cent said they felt confident they had the skills to live away from home, 68 per cent admitted never having paid a bill.

Thirty-eight per cent had never sewn on a button and 26 per cent had never washed their clothes. The survey of 1500 students was carried out by the Student Room, which runs advice websites, and the UK’s University of East Anglia.

It identified challenges including managing cash, making friends and staying healthy.
