Taipans’ shot at title team

CAIRNS captain Cam Gliddon says it will not hurt to get an early look at the NBL’s “benchmark” when the Taipans host reigning champion Perth in pre-season games this week.

Cairns will take on Perth tonight and Saturday, while Brisbane will also have hitouts against Illawarra at Logan tomorrow night and on the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

“To have two games in the week helps guys get on the same page a bit more,” Gliddon said ahead of the hitouts.
