Final say is for Stevie J

STEVE Johnson came through yesterday’s fitness test with flying colours and if the GWS veteran pulls up well this morning he will be set for Saturday’s preliminary final clash with Richmond at the MCG.

The three-time premiership winner waited for the media to leave Spotless Stadium yesterday before being put through his paces for 30 minutes.

Johnson has played back to back games just three times since Round 9 and has missed six matches over the same period due to his knees.

Such is the trust coach Leon Cameron has in Johnson, he will take the star’s advice on whether he is fit to play.

“He’s old enough to say he’s feeling good or he’s struggling a little bit,” Cameron said.
