THE alleged victim of a driveby shooting at a Hope Island home was arrested yesterday over an unrelated matter.

The 34-year-old man, who lives at the Ferretti Cres home that was sprayed with bullets earlier this week, was yesterday taken to the Southport Watch-house and charged in relation to an ongoing fraud investigation, a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.

Two cars were also seized from the property in relation to the alleged fraud.

A woman was also issued with a notice to appear in relation to the alleged fraud.

The arrest comes after the Gold Coast Bulletin yesterday revealed bikie-busting Taskforce Maxima was investigating after two men on a motorcycle sprayed the same northern Gold Coast house with bullets early on Tuesday morning.

About 1.30am at least seven bullets were fired into the Ferretti Cres home in Hope Island.

A man and woman were inside at the time but no one was hurt.

The shots went through the front door, garage and walls of the rental home, with broken glass and bullet holes clearly visible from the street.

No one has yet been charged in relation to the shooting.
