Labels’ dire influences
GENDER stereotypes are changing the behaviour of girls as young as seven as they feel pressure to “act a certain way”, research shows.
Girls are altering the opinions they air, their dress, the sport and exercise they do and how much they participate in class as a result, the Girlguiding Annual Attitudes survey reveals.
It says girls face “relentless pressure” from stereotypes on social media, TV, in films, newspapers, from parents, peers and even teachers.
