ONE man has been arrested in northern NSW and two men are still on the run after a spate of armed robberies on the Gold Coast in recent weeks.

The robberies, believed to be linked, involve up to three men at a number of locations including:

• Tallai General Store, September 13.

• Cellarbrations at Palm Beach, September 15.

• Burleigh Takeaway & Convenience store, September

• JJ’s on Golden Four Dve, September 18.

In each instance a staff member was allegedly threatened by a man armed with a tyre iron who then fled with a sum of cash, according to Gold Coast CIB Southern Acting Detective Inspector Simon Garrett.

Police are advising local businesses to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity following the “opportunistic” crimes.

NSW police yesterday arrested a 25-year-old Terranora man, who remains in custody for bail related offences.

He is expected to be extradited to face charges relating to robberies at Tallai and Palm Beach.

Police are seeking public assistance to locate another two men and a car they may be travelling in, a 2012 Toyota Camry with NSW registration CJ5 6YC.
