Skateboarder injured

A MAN was transported to hospital in a serious condition on Friday night after a skateboarding incident at Pimpama.

Early accounts indicate the 40-year-old was skateboarding on Aspect Street about 10pm when he fell off, hitting his head on the road. A woman found him and offered assistance.

Police and emergency services attended the scene and he was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with a significant head injury. He remains in serious condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
