Road rage motorist to face court

-

A PACIFIC Pines motorist has been arrested after a wild rampage throughout two suburbs in which it’s alleged an 80year-old driver and a police officer were assaulted.

Police will allege at 5.40pm on Friday a black Holden Colorado ute driven by a 34-yearold man collided with two vehicles at a red light.

The driver allegedly exited his vehicle on Guineas Creek Road, Elanora, at the intersection with Coolgardie Street and assaulted an 80-year-old male driver of one of the other vehicles, breaking his nose.

It is further alleged he then stole a green sedan and was involved in multiple hit-and-run crashes on the M1 in Robina before attempting to flee on foot.

He is alleged to have assaulted a police officer trying to arrest him. A second officer restrained the man who was treated at the scene and transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.

He has been charged with serious assault of a person over 60, serious assault of a cop and dangerous operation of a vehicle. He was remanded to appear in court today.
