Auction attracts top names

-

A SPECTACULAR Surfers Paradise mansion lured some of the Gold Coast’s biggest movers and shakers when it went to auction yesterday.

The event at 113 Commodore Drive, Paradise Waters attracted a who’s who of the Gold Coast, including Sunland Group managing director Soheil Abedian, entrepreneur and HomeCorp Group developer Ron Bakir and RollsRoyce and Bentley car dealer David Baird.

Ray White Surfers Paradise Group CEO Andrew Bell called the auction, which was held on the riverfront terrace of the property.

“This is unlike any other home, it’s a real statement in the street,” he told the crowd of 60.

Bidding started at $3 million and quickly rose to $6 million before it paused and negotiations took place. The property was passed in at $6.1 million.

The house was built in the 1980s for tourism figure Keith Williams. It was later owned by Dreamworld founder John Longhurst and was bought in 2013 by current owners, businessman Sep Abedian and wife Flora.
