Scarecrows torched

CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow has found himself in some pretty dicey situations in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

But nothing quite compares to being set alight by vandals on Tamborine Mountain over the weekend. The Johnny Depp lookalike scarecrow was one of a number of straw creations targeted during the 10th annual Scarecrow Festival.

“Before we could even get to the scarecrows the fire had been put out,” Grace Criss, 17, told the Bulletin.

“We were really lucky our next door neighbour was a firie.

“Jack Sparrow got scorched up one side and the boat got burnt.

“It is disappointing someone would do that.” that
