Jedinak looks doubtful

-

THE Socceroos look set to go into battle against Syria without captain Mile Jedinak, after he was again left out of Aston Villa’s squad for their win over Nottingham Forrest yesterday.

Jedinak, who had groin surgery in the off-season and has played just 45 minutes for Villa this campaign but came off after feeling soreness again, is a long shot to be ready for the high-intensity World Cup qualifiers even if Ange Postecoglou names him in the final 23 players.

China-based defender Trent Sainsbury remains a concern, failing to feature in Jiangsu Suning’s squad in the home loss to Guizhou.

Sainsbury has played just one game since returning to his club on September 9.
