Turf club in the pink
IT’S pleasing when sporting clubs and their officials go beyond the call of duty for charity.
The Gold Coast Turf Club’s Pink Ribbon Cup race day was a success on Saturday raising money for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Jockeys wore bright pink breeches for the feature race, the Birbecks Jewellers Pink Ribbon Cup, which was won by Charlie Cat.
Not surprisingly, there was plenty of ribbing when the male hoops emerged in the hot pink pants.
But most attention was on turf club CEO Steve Lines, who sported a pink beard for the day.
