It’s no time for a break
WHAT are rugby union officials thinking?
While the NRL and AFL were determining who would play in their showpiece grand finals, top-level rugby union was taking a break at the weekend.
There was no play in The Rugby Championship, with the Wallabies jetting to South Africa for a game next weekend.
It’s hard to know why. Rugby is in turmoil in this country and you would have thought the momentum of on-field action would be one way to deflect the off-field dramas.
The Rugby Championship will resume normal transmission on Sunday when the Wallabies clash with South Africa.
