Premier wants date with Thor
HOLLYWOOD heart-throb Chris Hemsworth may return to the Gold Coast for the premiere of Thor: Ragnarok after the Premier sent him an invitation to be her “date” on the red carpet.
Annastacia Palaszczuk has been working behind the scenes to get the superstar to the premiere on October 13.
Hemsworth hasn’t sent an RSVP to the event because he is filming the fourth instalment of the Avengers in Atlanta, Georgia, and will only wrap in time to attend the VIP screening in Sydney with his co-star Mark Ruffalo on October 15.
But a determined Ms Palaszczuk has personally written to “Mr Hemsworth” asking him to join her on the Coast.
Her letter urges Hemsworth to consider making the “homecoming” event. “I am ensuring that Queensland does everything we can to make this a fantastic experience and your attendance would go far in making this a night to remember,” she wrote.
Ms Palaszczuk hopes strings could be pulled to remove the scheduling clash.
“The most important thing for Queensland’s permanent film industry is the skilled jobs and income it generates. If we can top that off with getting the big names back for the premiere of these films that is a fantastic bonus,” she said.
